Config Sync isn't really a problem, as it's just your satellites searching for any new settings you've configured in your router. But your slow speeds, and dropped connections, sounds similar to problems I've experienced after my RBK53 auto-updated to 2.7.3.22. I have 2 satellites, 1 is wired to the router, and the other one is wireless.
